Kyle Teel to Red Sox? Latest MLB Rumors on Possible Return After Garrett Crochet Trade
The Boston Red Sox reportedly are interested in bringing back a former top prospect.
Per MassLive's Sean McAdam (h/t MLBTradeRumors.com's Mark Polishuk), the Red Sox have shown some interest in trading for Chicago White Sox catcher Kyle Teel, but "nothing is close now" in terms of a deal. McAdam also noted that the two teams discussed a trade for Teel over the summer and during this offseason.
Last December, the Red Sox traded Teel to Chicago, along with Braden Montgomery, Chase Meidroth, and Wikelman Gonzalez, in return for star ace Garrett Crochet. At the time of the trade, Teel was Boston's No. 4 prospect.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
In June, the White Sox called Teel up to the majors after tremendous play in Triple-A. He spent the rest of the season in the majors and performed well, hitting .273/.375/.411 with eight home runs and 35 RBI across 78 games. At the time of the call-up, he was the Sox's No. 2 prospect and the No. 26 overall prospect.
With Teel seemingly here to stay in the majors, it seems the Red Sox are hoping to get their former prized prospect back to Boston, but he might be a costly trade candidate after a big debut season.
