What Did Scott Boras Say About MLB Free Agents at 2025 Winter Meetings?
One month after a fresh batch of Scott Boras puns during the general managers meetings, MLB's super-agent was up to his old tricks while speaking to reporters from the winter meetings on Tuesday.
Since Tatsuya Imai is the most intriguing of the free agents he represents, Boras started there by working in a line with the Japanese star's last name to describe how teams are talking about him.

Boras knows the first one can't be the best because then you lose the audience for the rest of the set, so he worked in both Zac Gallen and Ranger Suárez's full names to express how they can impact a team's starting rotation.
Since those probably took a lot of work to craft, Boras eased off the throttle with a simple tease about Cody Bellinger maybe, possibly having interest from the Los Angeles Dodgers.
If you're worried that Boras is getting tired, don't fret because he came back strong by combining in a line about Alex Bregman's playoff resume with a pun that fits in with the upcoming holiday season.
All credit to Boras for continuing to put in the work, but it's hard not to feel like there is a bit of a drop-off in his material compared to previous years.
This is a man who once went in on the New York Mets for not wanting to live "in the gated community of Playoff-Ville" and said teams that claim they aren't making money practice "Casper Finance."
Perhaps the most notable thing Boras said in his pun-filled media day was the Bellinger-Dodgers nugget. It is a connection that has been out there, but a reunion seems like a long shot.
Per USA Today's Bob Nightengale, the Dodgers are "shopping" Teoscar Hernández and could pursue another outfielder if they are able to move him. He cited Harrison Bader as the type of player they would likely go after, but we know better than to underestimate how much they are willing to spend.
Bellinger started his career with the Dodgers when he was selected by the club in the fourth round of the 2013 draft. He won NL Rookie of the Year in 2017, NL MVP in 2019 and a World Series title in 2020.
The bit about Bregman's playoff resume is apt. He has posted an OPS over .900 in three postseason runs, including a .948 mark in 13 games during 2022 to help the Houston Astros win the World Series.
Even though wasn't necessarily Boras' best work, he at least goes out of his way to add some flare to the winter meetings just in case things start to get stale.
