'Boring' MLB Winter Meetings? GM Sounds Off on Free Agency, Trades amid Rumors
There's belief within MLB that the 2025 Winter Meetings will be "boring," according to USA Today's Bob Nightengale.
"I think it's going to be a boring winter meetings," a veteran general manager told Nightengale. "I just can't see much happening after talking to teams this past week."
Representatives will descend upon Orlando for Winter Meetings starting on Sunday, typically signaling the beginning of the most active time of the offseason for free agents to sign and trades to be agreed upon.

Nightengale reported Sunday that there will be "no more than one or two high-profile free agents" agreeing to contracts before the meetings conclude on Wednesday.
One such free agent is veteran slugger Kyle Schwarber, with ESPN's Jeff Passan listing him as the player most likely to sign a new contract during Winter Meetings.
Outfielder Kyle Tucker is one of the top free agents this offseason and could end up finalizing a deal in the near future, although Passan reported that Tucker's free agency "isn't close to done yet."
Detroit Tigers ace Tarik Skubal should generate plenty of interest from opposing teams on the trade market, as the Tigers have reportedly held discussions involving him despite having a high asking price.
Still, blockbuster moves may end up occurring once Wednesday's final meetings conclude.
