Did Bryce James Play for Arizona vs. Auburn? Latest on LeBron's Son amid Redshirt Buzz
No. 2 Arizona men's basketball defeated No. 20 Auburn 97-68 on Saturday to remain undefeated at 8-0. Koa Peat led the Wildcats with 18 points, and Brayden Burries and Jaden Bradley added 16 points apiece.
Freshman guard Bryce James did not play in this one. James, the second-eldest son of Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James, has not seen court action this year.
Of course, it's still possible he sees some time before the season ends. However, head coach Tommy Lloyd told reporters on Nov. 11 after an 84-49 win over Northern Arizona that it's possible James (and teammate Mabil Mawut) can redshirt this year to keep a year of collegiate eligibility. In order for that to happen, James can't even play for one second.

"No final decisions have been made," Lloyd said, per Cameron Salerno of CBS Sports. "It's tough. It puts you in a tough situation. You play Bryce in a game like this [against Northern Arizona] for three minutes, it burns a year of eligibility. I wish it was easier.
"I wish there was a set number of games you could play a guy like they have in football. I think that would make sense for some of these kids, but we don't. I want Bryce to have the best college basketball career and the most options in his college basketball career long-term, whatever that looks like. Throwing a kid with a lot of potential that's developing, he or Mabil, a few garbage minutes -- it might feel good now, but potentially down the line it could be something you regret."
The 6'5", 195-pound James, a 3-star prospect got offers from Ohio State and Duquesne before landing with the Wildcats. He helped his high school, Sierra Canyon, win the CIF State Division 1 championship in his senior year.
James should have a bright future ahead on the collegiate level. For now, he's got time to practice and develop before he takes the next big step as the Wildcats continue dominating in the early going.
