Wemby, SGA, Jalen Hurts, Juan Soto, Paige Bueckers Named to Forbes' 30 Under 30 List
Some of the brightest young talents in their respective fields cracked Forbes' 30 Under 30 list for the world of sports.
The Oklahoma City Thunder's Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and San Antonio Spurs' Victor Wembanyama made the cut. Gilgeous-Alexander was the runaway winner for 2024-25 MVP before Oklahoma City won the NBA Finals.
Dallas Wings guard Paige Bueckers was selected after winning the WNBA's Rookie of the Year and winning a national championship with UConn.
Lifting a Super Bowl title helped the Philadelphia Eagles' Saquon Barkley and Jalen Hurts receive the honor. Barkley entered elite company when he became the eighth running back to have 2,000 yards in a single season.
The New York Mets might've missed the MLB playoffs, but $765 million man and four-time All-Star Juan Soto got picked. Soto slugged .525 and led the National League in stolen bases (38).
French Open champion Coco Gauff was singled out for Forbes' daily cover:
Sportico's Kurt Badenhausen estimated that Gauff was the highest-earning athlete in all of women's sports. At $31 million, she narrowly edged out fellow tennis star Aryna Sabalenka.
Four judges helped to bring the list together and sift through the numerous submissions: Phoenix Suns and Mercury stakeholder Justin Ishbia, Kansas City Current president Raven Jemison, Milwaukee Bucks forward Kyle Kuzma and Goldman Sachs executive Stacy Sonnenberg.
