Referring to himself and AJ, Punk wrote that Larry "changed our lives," before expressing the eternal love they feel for their companion.
At Survivor Series on Saturday, Punk competed in the men's WarGames match. While making his way to the ring, he wore a jacket that featured the words "Larry's dad" stitched on the chest.
Although Larry never appeared in the ring for a televised segment in WWE, he became hugely popular among wrestling fans in recent years.
Punk and AJ adopted Larry after Punk left WWE in 2014 and AJ retired in 2015. Upon Punk's return to the company, Larry starred in a YouTube video, which saw him interacting with WWE Superstars backstage at an event last year:
Larry was also featured as part of some WWE merchandise, as his face was emblazoned on T-shirts and a plush toy of Larry was produced as well.
Independent toy company Zombie Sailor Toys produced action figures of Punk and Larry before his WWE return, and this past summer, Mattel revealed a render of an upcoming Larry WWE action figure.
Larry even showed up alongside Punk at the WWE Mattel panel at San Diego Comic Con, much to the delight of the fans in attendance.
Very few animals have been honored with official WWE merch over the years, proving how significant of a connection Larry had with the WWE Universe.
