How Will Giants Change Game Plan to Prevent Jaxson Dart Injury vs. Patriots?
After missing the last two games with a concussion, New York Giants rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart reportedly won't be featured as a part of the team's rushing attack when he returns to the field.
ESPN's Jordan Raanan reported that one offensive player said "he didn't expect designed runs in this week's game plan" against the New England Patriots on Monday Night Football. Raanan added that the belief is that it "should help limit the hits that Dart takes."
Before head coach Brian Daboll was fired, he regularly utilized Dart as a runner. The 22-year-old leads the team with seven rushing touchdowns while ranking third with 317 rushing yards.

Unfortunately, the strategy put Dart at risk of taking big hits, and things came to a head when he sustained a concussion against the Chicago Bears on Nov. 9. The injury occurred on his sixth design run of the game. Daboll was fired that Monday and replaced by interim head coach Mike Kafka.
Dart acknowledged that he has to play more safely if he wants to be New York's franchise quarterback.
"Moving forward, I have to be more available for this team," Dart said after getting cleared from the concussion protocol. "This is obviously on the forefront of my mind moving forward."
