Chiefs' Mahomes Dilemma 🤔

B/R Experts Week 14 NFL Power Rankings

B/R NFL StaffDec 1, 2025

Madness. Chaos. Anarchy.

That pretty much sums up lucky Week 13 in the NFL. And by "lucky" we mean for the underdogs.

We should have known it was going to be a week when all three Thanksgiving Day games were won by said underdogs. And to a large extent, that carried right through the weekend. The Chicago Bears made an emphatic statement in handling the defending Super Bowl champions in Philadelphia on Friday. The Carolina Panthers stunned the top team in these Power Rankings in Charlotte. After looking like the NFL's top team for a chunk of the season, the Indianapolis Colts fell from first place in the AFC South after losing to the Houston Texans.

Oh, and two of the favorites to represent the AFC in Super Bowl LX (the Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs) are 6-6 and in real danger of missing the playoffs altogether.

As one might expect, a wild week of upsets and surprises threw the NFL's pecking order into a blender. And as they do every week, Bleacher Report NFL analysts Gary DavenportKris KnoxMaurice Moton and Brent Sobleski are here to sift through the shakeup and slot the NFL's teams from worst to first.

At least the basement-dweller stayed put—we need some order in the universe.

32. Tennessee Titans (1-11)

Last Week: 32

Week 13 Result: Lost 25-3 vs. Jacksonville

Coming out of a Week 10 bye, the Tennessee Titans played in a couple of competitive matchups against the Houston Texans and Los Angeles Chargers, but they hit rock bottom at home in a blowout loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Titans didn't establish any offensive rhythm against the Jaguars' 25th-ranked pass defense, which is a troubling sign at this point of the season under interim head coach Mike McCoy and interim offensive play-caller Bo Hardegree.

The Titans are hard to watch, and they're the worst team in the power rankings by a wide margin. -- Moton

31. Las Vegas Raiders (2-10)

Week 13 Result: Lost vs. Chargers 31-14

We learned one thing for sure in Week 13. Firing offensive coordinator Chip Kelly wasn't a quick fix for the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Raiders' offense looked just as nonthreatening on Sunday as it did before Kelly was relieved of his duties. Most of the issues stem from a bad offensive line that can't open holes for Ashton Jeanty or protect Geno Smith at an even average level.

Unless Pete Carroll is willing to fire his own son in-season—Brennan Carroll serves as both the offensive line coach and the run-game coordinator—Las Vegas' biggest issues aren't going away in 2025. – Knox

30. New York Giants (2-11)

Giants Patriots Football
Giants QB Jaxson Dart

Last Week: 28

Week 13 Result: Lost 33-15 vs. New England

In the first half of their matchup with the New England Patriots, the New York Giants played like a team ready for a Week 14 bye, falling behind 30-7 by halftime. Big Blue benched rookie first-rounder Abdul Carter to start the game, which is a concerning development after he sat out the first series of the club's Week 11 contest with the Green Bay Packers.

Despite being eliminated from playoff contention, the Giants still need to play with more urgency and purpose as they figure out who will be part of the franchise's future, likely under a new coaching staff. -- Moton

Week 13 Result: Lost vs. Miami 21-17

It probably doesn't feel great to be quarterback Tyler Shough right now. The rookie second-round pick has played relatively well for a scrappy New Orleans Saints team. However, New Orleans lacks the overall talent to turn competitive play into wins.

Against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, the Saints played just well enough to make things interesting late in the fourth quarter.

The Saints are barrelling toward a top-five draft pick, and they are very much in play for the first overall selection. That may mean a new quarterback in 2026 and a trip back to the bench for Shough. -- Knox

Week 13 Result: Won vs. Atlanta 27-24

Aside from the team earning its third victory of the season, Adonai Mitchell experiencing a breakout contest for the Jets deserves headline-grabbing attention. Mitchell caught eight passes for 102 yards and a touchdown against the Atlanta Falcons. Mitchell felt like a throw-in as part of the Sauce Gardner trade.

However, the Colts are currently sputtering, while Gardner left Sunday's contest with a calf injury. The Jets already have a WR1 in Garrett Wilson when he's healthy. But Mitchell could give Gang Green a dynamic duo when both are in the lineup and the team somehow gets better quarterback play. -- Sobleski

27. Cleveland Browns (3-9)

6 of 32
49ers Browns Football
Browns EDGE Myles Garrett

Last Week: 27

Week 13 Result: Lost vs. San Francisco 26-8

Browns edge-rusher Myles Garrett is abjectly terrifying.

There's no point in talking about his team—the Browns handed San Francisco a win Sunday with a comedy of errors that would be funny if it wasn't so sad. The 49ers had three touchdown drives Sunday. Not one was 40 yards long.

So let's talk about Garrett, who is barreling toward his second Defensive Player of the Year award. Garrett's sack on Sunday gives him 19 for the year. Garrett needs four over his five games to break the NFL's single-season sack record of 22.5. Given that he has more sacks over his last five games than anyone else has for the season (pending what Brian Burns does Monday night), his chances of doing so appear good.

It's a shame to see a generational talent like Garrett wasted on a terrible team. – Davenport

26. Arizona Cardinals (3-9)

7 of 32
Cardinals Buccaneers Football
Cardinals QB Jacoby Brissett

Last Week: 25

Week 13 Result: Lost vs. Tampa Bay 20-17

With Sunday's loss in Tampa, the Arizona Cardinals have officially been eliminated from the playoffs. Since a 2-0 start, the Redbirds have won once in 10 games.

And as the Cardinals play out the string and get ready for another year of watching the postseason on television, the franchise faces a crossroads. More than one, in fact.

After 15 wins in two-plus seasons and not sniffing the playoffs, head coach Jonathan Gannon's days are likely numbered. But the bigger question—the one that looms like a dark cloud over the desert—is what the franchise does about quarterback Kyler Murray, who is on injured reserve.

There's no sugarcoating it—veteran journeyman Jacoby Brissett has outplayed Murray this year—and it's not close. But Murray's $230.5 million contract makes releasing him in 2026 dicey (over $50 million in dead cap money), and any trade would likely involve Arizona eating some of his salary—and little return in terms of draft capital. -- Davenport

25. Minnesota Vikings (4-8)

8 of 32
Vikings Seahawks Football
Vikings WR Justin Jefferson

Last Week: 22

Week 13 Result: Lost vs. Seattle 26-0

The Vikings are dealing with a disaster of their own making at the game's most important position. Minnesota can't be blamed for injuries to J.J. McCarthy and Carson Wentz, of course. However, the organization chose to move past Sam Darnold this past offseason. The Vikings just watched Darnold and his Seahawks defeat them and improve to 9-3 overall.

Meanwhile, the Vikings were forced to start undrafted free-agent rookie Max Brosmer, who looked completely overwhelmed, and fell to 4-8 this season. Minnesota has fallen a long way from last season's 14-3 record. The problems start at quarterback. -- Sobleski

24. Washington Commanders (3-9)

Last Week: 26

Week 13 Result: Lost 27-26 vs. Denver (OT)

The Commanders battled in a valiant effort, but they came up short on the final play of the contest. Marcus Mariota couldn't get the potential game-winning pass for two points over Nik Bonitto's hands in overtime.

With its seventh consecutive loss, Washington will finish the 2025 campaign with a losing record. Starting quarterback Jayden Daniels may return from a dislocated elbow, but the club has no reason to rush him back. The Commanders will be a tough spoiler team in the final five weeks of the season. -- Moton

23. Atlanta Falcons (4-8)

Last Week: 21

Week 13 Result: Lost vs. Jets 27-24

We can pretty much write the Atlanta Falcons out of the NFC South race, and it's time to seriously wonder whether Raheem Morris and Terry Fontenot should be on the hot seat.

Atlanta just went into New York and out-gained the Jets, won the time-of-possession battle, got mostly good play from QB Kirk Cousins, established the ground game, committed just a single penalty, and lost.

Good teams don't have that sort of performance against a subpar opponent and lose. Despite having several individually talented players, the Falcons don't have a good team. -- Knox

22. Miami Dolphins (5-7)

11 of 32
Saints Dolphins Football
Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa

Last Week: 23

Week 13 Result: Won vs. New Orleans 21-17

Nothing the Dolphins are currently doing is pretty. They're winning ugly, but they're winning. In fact, Miami posted victories in four of its last five games, including three in a row. The difference in Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints came down to a pseudo-pick-six by Minkah Fitzpatrick to prevent the Saints from tying the game on a two-point conversion, while giving Miami two points of its own.

Interestingly, the Dolphins current winning streak began after owner Stephen Ross dismissed general manager Chris Grier. Maybe Ross was onto something wanting to keep head coach Mike McDaniel and quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. Though the latter must play better to warrant that level of confidence. -- Sobleski

21. Cincinnati Bengals (4-8)

12 of 32
Bengals Football
Bengals QB Joe Burrow

Last Week: 24

Week 13 Result: Won vs. Baltimore 32-14

Let's get this out of the way. The Bengals aren't making the playoffs, even after Joe Burrow's return and the team's most impressive overall effort of the season in blasting the Ravens in Baltimore. Eight losses are too many, and next week the Bengals head to Buffalo.

But the Bills aren't feeling nearly as confident about taking on Cincy as they were a few weeks ago, and it has less to do with Burrow than it does a Bengals defense that has looked light-years better in recent weeks.

The Bengals host the Ravens the following week and then travel to Miami before facing two tomato cans to close the year. So while Cincy isn't making the postseason, they can ruin things for the Ravens and Dolphins—and a hot finish to a disappointing season might just be enough to save head coach Zac Taylor's job. -- Davenport

20. Pittsburgh Steelers (6-6)

13 of 32
Bills Steelers Football
Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers

Last Week: 18

Week 13 Result: Lost vs. Buffalo 26-7

Does anyone want to win the AFC North?

Sunday's lopsided loss to the Buffalo Bills has knocked whatever shine was left on the 2025 Steelers. This iteration of the team with Aaron Rodgers under center looks a lot like last year's. And the year before that.

This is a mediocre football team.

Rodgers is clearly not 100 percent, and he wasn't especially effective when he was—in part because outside wideout DK Metcalf the team's pass-catching talent is among the weakest in the NFL. Despite the Bills being short both starting tackles, edge-rusher T.J. Watt pulled another vanishing act Sunday.

With two games against the rival Ravens over the last five games of the season, the Steelers could still wind up Kings in the North and in the playoffs.

But in Game of Thrones, the King in the North tended to wind up dead.

And the Steelers will be in the Wild Card Round—if they make the postseason at all. -- Davenport

19. Carolina Panthers (7-6)

The Carolina Panthers bounced back from last week's embarrassment in San Francisco and beat the hottest team in the NFC. The Panthers aren't playing consistently well enough to feel like legitimate Super Bowl contenders, but they might be the best team in the NFC South.

Carolina still trails the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the division because of winning percentage, but it still has two games against the banged-up Bucs left on the schedule.

The Panthers have an opportunistic defense and have found enough offensive playmakers that they feel capable of beating just about anyone when Bryce Young is "on."

18. Dallas Cowboys (6-5-1)

Last Week: 19

Week 13 Result: Won 31-28 vs. Kansas City

Winners in three consecutive games, the Dallas Cowboys have shown more resistance on defense, allowing an average of 21.7 points during their win streak, nearly a touchdown less than their season average of 28.5. They gave up 28 points in their last victory, but only allowed a 38 percent conversion rate on third down and sacked Patrick Mahomes three times.

The Cowboys added Quinnen Williams and Logan Wilson before the trade deadline, and those additions helped them stiffen up on the defensive side of the ball. Dallas is starting to play its best football as it heads into the crucial post-Thanksgiving stretch of the season. -- Moton

17. Baltimore Ravens (6-6)

16 of 32
Ravens Football
Ravens QB Lamar Jackson

Last Week: 11

Week 13 Result: Lost vs. Cincinnati 32-14

The Baltimore Ravens have a Lamar Jackson problem.

Jackson has played four games since returning from injury—and it has been his worst month in recent memory. He has topped 200 passing yards once, and that was in Thursday's blowout loss to Cincinnati. He hasn't completed 60 percent of his passes in any of those games. He hasn't thrown a touchdown pass since November 9. Jackson has three interceptions and four fumbles over that four-game span. Jackson has been sacked 10 times. And he has 84 rushing yards. Total. In four games.

Why Jackson isn't playing well doesn't matter. All that matters is that he is. And with a critical matchup with the hated Steelers up next and a brutal schedule the rest of the way, if Jackson doesn't turn things around quickly, there's a real chance the Ravens will miss the playoffs altogether. – Davenport

Last Week: 11

Week 13 Result: Lost vs. Dallas 31-28

Just when it looked like the Kansas City Chiefs might be back on track, they put together a dud against the Dallas Cowboys.

Kansas City's Week 12 overtime win was the sort of game we were accustomed to seeing from last year's Chiefs. The loss in Dallas, however, felt a lot like Kansas City's other 2025 losses.

The Chiefs have just been too inconsistent offensively and too inefficient defensively to look like a legitimate threat in the AFC this season. Opposing teams still won't want to see Patrick Mahomes in the playoffs, but there's a very real chance they won't. -- Knox

15. Los Angeles Chargers (8-4)

18 of 32
Steelers Chargers Football
Chargers EDGE Khalil Mack

Last Week: 17

Week 13 Result: Won vs. Las Vegas 31-14

The Los Angeles Chargers are getting enough out of their defense and rushing attack to look like a dangerous wild-card team. However, injuries may prevent them from being much more than that in 2025.

Joe Alt and Rashawn Slater are both out for the year, and now quarterback Justin Herbert is set to undergo surgery for a broken bone in his non-throwing hand.

Herbert played through the injury on Sunday, and he's not guaranteed to miss time post-surgery. If he's at less than 100 percent to start a brutal five-game, end-of-year schedule, though, L.A. could be in trouble. -- Knox

14. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-5)

Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield

Last Week: 16

Week 13 Result: Won vs. Arizona 20-17

Tampa is barely clinging to an NFC South lead, and it didn't exactly dominate a mediocre Cardinals team in Week 13.

However, the Buccaneers did snap a three-game losing streak, and they can take some positives away from their latest victory.

Baker Mayfield's shoulder injury isn't nearly as concerning as the one he suffered with Cleveland in 2021. Bucky Irving made his return and played well, while Chris Godwin appeared to be in pre-injury form for perhaps the first time this season.

The Bucs' margin of error has become razor-thin, but they're trending in a positive direction in time for a late surge. -- Knox

49ers Browns Football
49ers RB Christian McCaffrey

Last Week: 13

Week 13 Result: Won vs. Cleveland 26-8

The San Francisco 49ers just keep winning.

Granted, the Niners had help in Cleveland Sunday—from the Browns. On a day where the San Francisco offense barely cracked 250 yards of offense, a combination of turnovers and special teams consistently gave the 49ers short fields—all three of the 49ers' touchdown drives were under 40 yards.

But that's the thing about these 49ers. Give them an opportunity, and they will take advantage of it. The team has been dealing with adversity all season long. Both sides of the ball have been ravaged by injuries—especially a defense with a patchwork front-seven that somehow continues to play well.

Plenty of teams would fold under the weight of everything that has gone wrong. The 49ers will hit the bye week within half a game of first place in a brutal division.

And with the Colts, Bears and Seahawks still on the schedule, San Francisco will have to be as resilient as ever down the stretch. -- Davenport

With C.J. Stroud back from concussion protocol, the Houston Texans extended their winning streak to four games, and they're in the thick of the race for another AFC South title. Regardless of who's under center, the Texans offense will struggle to score against respectable defenses, but they field a shutdown defensive unit.

Last Sunday, the Jacksonville Jaguars finished the game without a turnover, the first time they'd done so since Week 7. To be a more consistent team, the Jaguars must protect the football while their offense racks up points.

Over the last five weeks, Jacksonville has averaged 29.2 points, winning in two blowouts and two overtime outings. Head coach Liam Coen should emphasize ball security in the team's final five games.

Those final games are pivotal. The Jaguars still have two games with similarly 8-4 Colts and a trip to Denver in Week 16. That trio of contests will determine if the Jags can hang on to first place in the AFC South. -- Moton

Week 13 Result: Lost vs. Green Bay 31-24

The roles reversed between the Lions and the Green Bay Packers when compared to last season. The Lions remain a quality squad, yet Detroit lost both games to Green Bay this year whereas Detroit won both divisional meetings during the 2024 campaign.

The rivalry points to bigger issues. Dan Campbell's team is not executing and making the plays it previously did. The Lions have already lost three more games this fall. Currently, Detroit sits just on the outside of the playoff standings after losing two of its last three games. The schedule doesn't let up over the next two weeks, with the surging Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Rams next on the docket. -- Sobleski

A.J. Brown recorded season highs in catches (10) and receiving yards (132), with two touchdowns in a loss to the Chicago Bears, but Philadelphia is averaging just 15.5 points in its last four games. The Eagles are slipping in the power rankings as their offense sputters into December. – Moton

The Bills were missing both of their starting offensive tackles, Dion Dawkins and Spencer Brown, Sunday because of injuries. Ten days earlier, the team surrendered a career-high eight sacks on Josh Allen. The Steelers' T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith were poised to light up Allen, right?

Wrong. Buffalo's offensive line responded. Allen wasn't sacked once. In fact, he was barely touched. The group opened the way for another big day from running back James Cook, who accumulated 144 rushing yards on 32 carries. The Bills dominated at the point of attack and made the Steelers look soft in Pittsburgh. -- Sobleski

The Bears sit atop the NFC standings for the first time since the 2006 campaign. While the turnaround under Ben Johnson's direction is impressive, how Chicago was able to reach its current standing was even more so.

The Bears trounced the Philadelphia Eagles in the trenches on Black Friday. Chicago ran for 281 yards against the reigning Super Bowl champions. D'Andre Swift and rookie Kyle Monangai both ran for at least 125 yards. Caleb Williams is a playmaker at quarterback, but the Bears will continue to be a real threat based on how their offensive line and defense played during the squad's latest contest. -- Sobleski

Week 13 Result: Won vs. Minnesota 26-0

The Seattle Seahawks are legitimate Super Bowl contenders. A real threat to the Rams in the NFC West. And arguably the most underrated defense in the league.

Yes, the Seahawks were facing a so-so (on a good day) Vikings team led by an undrafted rookie quarterback in Max "UFL" Brosmer in Week 13. But Seattle did exactly what they should do when facing a team like that—took them behind the woodshed and tub-thumped them.

Said thumping was all about a Seattle defense that dominated from start to finish. The Vikings had just 162 yards of offense, converted two third downs in 10 tries and turned the ball over five times.

Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba's huge season may have gotten the run in the Emerald City, but it's the team's ability to run the football and play defense that could spur a deep playoff run. -- Davenport

So, Matthew Stafford isn't a pass-throwing robot from the future.

After 28 straight touchdown passes without an interception, Stafford was picked off twice Sunday in Charlotte—including a pick-six by Panthers cornerback Mike Jackson. The Rams defense allowed over 350 yards of offense and seven third-down conversions in 15 attempts.

It was a surprisingly sloppy performance on both sides of the ball from a Rams team that had been lethally efficient over the past month-plus. And the loss (for now, at last) cost the Rams the NFC's No. 1 seed.

The Rams have two games left with the hapless Cardinals and a trip to Atlanta left on the slate. But after visiting Arizona next week the Rams host the Lions before a road date in Seattle.

Denver looked sluggish coming out of its bye and just narrowly escaped a Commanders team that hasn't won since Week 5. It was just the latest example of the Broncos winning ugly, but they are winning.

In fact, Denver has won nine straight and has already matched last season's win total. It's fair to question the quality of some of those wins, but victories over the Chiefs and Eagles suggest that the Broncos are quite capable of making postseason noise.

It still feels like Bo Nix and the Broncos offense are only efficient for a few drives each game, but with a top-five defense, that's been enough. There's still time to find an offensive rhythm ahead of the postseason, and this is already a team no one will want to face in Denver in January. -- Knox

Week 13 Result: Win vs. New York Giants 33-15

At 11-2, the Patriots enter their bye week as the NFL's best team. They did nothing to dissuade the previous notion during their Monday Night Football meeting with the New York Giants. Instead, New England did exactly what it should by manhandling an inferior opponent. Mike Vrabel's squad has now won 10 straight games, with an average margin of victory over 10 points per contest.

Impressively, the Patriots held New York's talented defensive front at bay despite starting a brand new left side of their offensive line. Drake Maye was barely affected. The sophomore quarterback stood tall in the pocket, worked his way through his progressions and completed 24 of 31 pass attempts. The possibility of Maye being named this year's MVP grew with another stellar performance. -- Sobleski
