Did Bryce James Play in Arizona's Last Game? Latest on LeBron's Son amid Redshirt Buzz
Arizona men's basketball is off to a dominant start, sitting at No. 2 in the nation with marquee wins over defending champion, No. 3 Florida, No. 15 UCLA and No. 3 UConn.
The Wildcats opened the season ranked 13 but climbed to No. 2 with statement victories each week — all while one of the most talked-about freshmen in the country has remained on the bench: Bryce James.
A consensus three-star prospect per 247Sports' composite rankings, he was expected to play a meaningful role this season but has yet to see the floor as Arizona improved to 7-0 with its 98-61 win over Norfolk State on Saturday.

The son of four-time NBA champion LeBron James, Bryce committed to Arizona in January, announcing on Instagram that he was "100% committed," after receiving limited offers from Ohio State and the Duquesne Dukes.
Arizona has survived nail-biters against top programs and rolled through unranked opponents in games where Bryce was expected to get late minutes. But after a blowout win over Northern Arizona, coach Tommy Lloyd told reporters there is a possibility James will redshirt, saying he doesn't want to burn a year of eligibility on "garbage minutes."
The tough part about redshirting in college basketball is the restriction itself. To remain eligible, a player cannot appear on the court for even a second, unlike college football where athletes can play in up to four games, or 33 percent of a team's contests, during their redshirt season.
Arizona faces back-to-back ranked opponents in No. 21 Auburn next Saturday, Dec. 6 and No. 8 Alabama the following week, but will follow with a lengthy stretch of unranked teams where Bryce James could see playing time if the Wildcats decide against redshirting him.
