Michigan Makes MCBB History in Gonzaga Win, What Are Odds to Win March Madness 2026?

Michigan made the most of Feast Week, earning its second blowout of a ranked opponent in as many days.

The Wolverines hammered No. 12 Gonzaga 101-61 on Wednesday to win the Players Era Festival in Las Vegas.

In doing so, they became the first team ever to beat Top 25 foes by 30 points in back-to-back games during the era of the Associated Press poll, per ESPN Insights. Dusty May's squad took down No. 21 Auburn 102-72 on Tuesday.

"We know we're capable of national championships," senior forward Yaxel Lendeborg said, per ESPN's Myron Medcalf. "As long as we continue to grow together, we're going to be the best in the country and nobody will be able to stop us."

Lendeborg finished with a double-double (20 points and 11 rebounds), while fellow starters Morez Johnson Jr., Aday Mara and Nimari Burnett all scored in double figures as well. Trey McKenney came off the bench and dropped 17 points.

As a team, Michigan shot 60 percent from the field and went 13-of-27 from beyond the arc.

Michigan went into the week ranked seventh in the AP poll and will be knocking on the door of the top five when voters next have their say.

Oddsmakers seem to have already reacted to what unfolded in Sin City. The Wolverines have the third-best championship odds (+1000) at DraftKings Sportsbook. Only Duke and Purdue, both +900, sit above them.

Earlier this month, Michigan needed overtime to edge past Wake Forest and then narrowly avoided an upset at the hands of TCU. As a result, the team fell one spot from No. 6 in the AP poll.

A level of skepticism hovered around the Wolverines heading into the Players Era Festival. They did their best to put those doubts to bed.
