Julia StumbaughNov 25, 2025

Four schools remain in the running to sign five-star guard Dylan Mingo.

Mingo is set to choose between Baylor, Penn State, North Carolina and Washington, he told On3's Joe Tipton.

He does not yet have a commitment date, per Tipton.

Mingo is ranked as the No. 5 overall prospect and No. 2 combo guard in the Class of 2026 by 247Sports.

He had reportedly also received offers from other programs including Miami, NC State, Alabama, UConn, Florida State, Illinois, Louisville, Missouri, Ole Miss, Texas and Texas A&M, according to 247Sports.

Mingo is listed at 6'5'' and 190 pounds out of Long Island Lutheran High School in Glen Head, New York. 247Sports director of scouting Adam Finkelstein describes him as "a big guard with length, versatility, natural feel for the game, and an ability to get wherever he wants with the ball in his hands."

UNC head coach Hubert Davis is hoping to secure his second five-star prospect of the 2026 class after receiving a commitment from small forward Maximo Adams earlier this month.

Adams, listed as the No. 23 national prospect and No. 11 small forward by 247Sports composite rankings, visited Chapel Hill the same day Mingo announced his commitment to the Tar Heels.

Baylor's 2026 recruiting class is meanwhile led by four-star forward Elijah Williams, ranked as the consensus No. 32 prospect in the nation by 247Sports.

Penn State has one 2026 recruit in three-star forward Jamison White, while Washington has yet to secure a commitment from any 2026 prospects.

Mingo is former high school teammates with Philadelphia 76ers guard VJ Edgecombe, who played one season at Baylor before he was selected with the No. 3 pick of the 2025 NBA draft.

He also has a connection to Penn State, where his brother Kayden Mingo is a freshman starter for the Nittany Lions.

According to 247Sports' Dushawn London, Mingo is expected to announce his final decision by the end of the year.
