Hurley Says UConn Won't Eat 'F--king Tryptophan' Thursday and Be 'Sluggish as S--t'

UConn head coach Dan Hurley has an interesting strategy for his team to avoid a letdown in Friday's game against No. 8 Illinois.

Hurley told reporters after Sunday's 72-49 win over Bryant (41:40 mark) that the No. 3 Huskies will have their Thanksgiving dinner early on Wednesday instead of Thursday so they won't be "sluggish as s--t" for Friday's 12:30 p.m. tipoff. He highlighted that they won't eat the "f--king tryptophan," which is an amino acid that's a precursor to chemicals like serotonin and melatonin that are linked to sleep regulation.

UConn has started the season with a 5-1 record and will be facing an Illinois team with an identical record in Friday's matchup.
