Chris Olave Teases Saints Contract Extension, 'I Want to Be in New Orleans Forever'
New Orleans Saints star wide receiver Chris Olave made his feelings about a signing a potential contract extension clear on Friday.
"It's in the works," Olave said during an appearance on the Up & Adams Show. "I want to be in New Orleans forever. I know it's a tough time right now, but I love it out here. I love the people, I love the culture, I love the fans. And I love the new coaching staff and the front office. We're in the works right now and I hope it gets done soon. But like I said, I want to be here for my whole career."

Olave is currently under contract through the 2026 season before he's slated to hit free agency in 2027.
He's still playing on his rookie deal, and the Saints picked up his fifth-year option for the 2026 season on April 23.
New Orleans owns a record of just 2-8 this season, leading to Olave reportedly drawing interest from opposing teams ahead of the Nov. 4 trade deadline including the Buffalo Bills, New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Saints appear to view him as a building block moving forward, though.
Dianna Russini of The Athletic reported Oct. 18 that New Orleans was "trying to work out a long-term contract" for Olave despite "his name being attached to teams looking for pass catchers."
The Saints selected Olave with the No. 11 overall pick in the 2022 NFL draft. The former Ohio State standout immediately became a weapon in their passing attack, surpassing the 1,000-yard threshold in each of his first two years with the team.
Two concussions limited him to just eight games played during the 2024 season, but he's appeared in all 10 regular-season contests with New Orleans this year.
Olave has reeled in 60 catches for 664 yards and four touchdowns in 2025, averaging 11.1 yards per reception.
He's particularly excelled as of late, recording 27 catches for 420 yards and three scores over his past five games.
