Blake Miller NFL Draft 2026 Scouting Report for Detroit Lions OT
The Detroit Lions selected Clemson OT Blake Miller with the No. 17 overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft.
Blake Miller is a durable, alert right tackle prospect with good athletic ability, arm length and quick, proactive hands to establish first meaningful contact and gain control of defenders. Miller lacks high-end power but brings tenacity as a finisher to stick on blocks. He lacks proven versatility but has the tools to develop it and compete for a starting right tackle job during his rookie contract.
Miller is a 6'7", 317-pound offensive line prospect, who entered the Clemson program as a 3-star recruit in the 2022 class.
The former Tiger broke the Clemson record for career snaps from scrimmage, playing 3,778 offensive snaps over 54 career games (all starts at right tackle) from 2022-25 and set the Clemson record for consecutive starts by a non-specialist with 54. He was also voted as a team captain in 2025.

Where He Wins
2 of 5
— Utilizes effective high-low hand carriage and approach in pass protection to strike and latch the outer pec of rushers with a responsive catch hand to corral his target.
— Capable anchor to regain balance and die slowly after initially getting jolted against the bull-rush.
— Active drag hand with good spacing to overtake and sort out basic line games and stunts.
— Churns and strains to capitalize on drive-block momentum to displace and steer defenders away from the ball.
— Uncorks into contact with aggression and pop in his hands to deliver initial jolt.
— Does a decent job on angle-drive blocks of walling off and securing rush lanes.
Areas of Improvement
3 of 5
— Upright playing style with shaky body control leads to leaning and consistently being overextended, especially against the push-pull technique.
— Struggles to timely adjust and stay in front of moves across his face in the run and pass game.
— Choppy feet lead to being tardy getting his second step in the ground and generate power on contact.
— Takes erratic angles to backers on climbs that results in a boom-or-bust hit rate.
