The Boilermakers will wear the new uniforms for the first time during a Thursday night matchup with Alabama.
Purdue entered the 2025-26 season as the top-ranked team in the AP preseason poll, but has since slipped to No. 2 behind Houston.
The Boilermakers have claimed a 2-0 start to the season thanks to wins over the MVC's Evansville and Horizon's Oakland despite the absence of star forward Trey Kaufman-Renn, who has been sidelined due to a hip injury.
The win over Oakland was closer than expected, however. The Boilermakers faced a tied score at the half last Friday before pulling ahead late to claim a 10-point victory.
Purdue was also out-rebounded 39-37 after being held to just 11 offensive rebounds in the victory.
"Credit to them, they play a great game, but we're supposed to be the No. 1 team in the country," Purdue guard Fletcher Loyer told reporters after Friday's game. "We've got to be better than that, and it starts on the defensive end. Shots didn't go in, but shots aren't always good. That's just how it goes down. So, we've got to be better on defense, and can't let them get downhill, and then we're not helping, and we're not rebounding because we're not in position."
Purdue could reclaim their No. 1 spot in the rankings if they are able to improve on those defensive and rebounding struggles during Thursday's game against No. 8 Alabama.
The Boilermakers will be wearing black when their biggest game of the season so far tips off at 7 p.m. ET at Coleman Coliseum.
