Jonah Coleman NFL Draft 2026 Scouting Report for Denver Broncos RB

Damian ParsonNov 9, 2025

The Denver Broncos selected Washington RB Jonah Coleman with the No. 108 overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft.

Jonah Coleman is a compact and densely built ball carrier with adequate starting talent. He runs downhill with physicality and power, setting the tone with his play style.

Coleman's strong frame makes it difficult for defenders to bring him down on first contact.

His collegiate career began with the Arizona Wildcats. Coleman joined their program as a 3-star recruit in the 2022 class. He transferred to Washington two seasons ago and had a breakout season in 2024. He ran for 1,053 yards and ten touchdowns.

Where He Wins

2 of 5
Illinois v Washington

- Coleman's contact balance is one of his best traits. He uses that bowling ball frame to his advantage, absorbing and pinballing off initial contact. The Huskies' RB1 is hard to tackle and possesses the leg strength to stay on his feet.

- He runs with patience and vision. Coleman's eyes and feet are paired together to find and hit open lanes quickly and with intent. He follows the lead blockers to maximize his offensive line's efforts. He sets defenders up with subtle movements as he presses the line of scrimmage. Coleman's feet never stop moving as he's searching for space to work.

- Gaining yards after contact is where he excels. Coleman's lateral footwork and frame density make it difficult for opponents to execute arm tackles. He possesses lateral cuts to force missed tackles and the run physicality to power through defenders for more yards.

- Coleman offers value on passing downs as both a functional receiving option and in pass protection. He catches the ball well as an underneath/check-down receiver out of the backfield. The former 3-star recruit is a reliable pass protector. He is fearless, stepping up in the pocket to take on free runners.

Areas of Improvement

3 of 5
Ohio State v Washington

- Top-end speed is average. Coleman lacks the open-field speed to consistently generate explosive plays and pull away from pursuing defenders.

- Coleman is not an explosive athlete. He will not burst past first and second-level defenders in proximity. He wins with patience and the craftiness of letting his blocks set up and spring him into daylight.

- He is not a weapon out of the backfield as a pass catcher. His best work will be underneath and on shallow routes. Coleman lacks a well-rounded route tree to attack the defense.
