In addition to his dazzling on-court display in Duke's exhibition game against Tennessee, Cameron Boozer took control of the locker room during halftime to hype his teammates.

The Blue Devils released a video from Sunday's contest showing the freshman phenom encouraging his teammates to stay engaged and communicate with each other, urging them to "push through" in the second half to get a win.

The high-profile exhibition between Duke and Tennessee turned into a thrilling showcase between two teams expected to be among the best in the country this season.

Tennessee went into the half with a 43-37 lead in front of a partisan home crowd at Thompson–Boling Arena in Knoxville.

Boozer's speech—and his electrifying talent on the floor—helped propel the Blue Devils to a big second half. They outscored the Volunteers 46-33 over the final 20 minutes en route to an 83-76 win.

The 18-year-old finished with 24 points, 23 rebounds, six assists, two blocks and one steal in 39 minutes. He was one of three Duke players to score in double figures, along with Isaiah Evans (22 points on 4-of-9 three-point shooting) and Patrick Ngongba (15 points, nine rebounds).

Duke has the No. 1 recruiting class in the nation for the second consecutive year. Boozer is the headline player in the group as a 5-star prospect and No. 3 overall recruit, per 247Sports.

Heading into the start of the college basketball season, B/R's Jonathan Wasserman currently has Boozer projected as the No. 2 overall pick in the 2026 NBA draft with a pro comparison to former Duke star Paolo Banchero.

Duke is ranked No. 6 in the Associated Press Top 25 preseason poll, which came out a couple weeks before the exhibition game against No. 18 Tennessee.

It's unclear if the result would improve the Blue Devils' standing in the preseason ranking, but they figure to be hanging around the top of the standings throughout the season given the amount of talent head coach Jon Scheyer and his staff have accrued.

Boozer and the Blue Devils will officially tipoff the 2025-26 season against Texas in the Dick Vitale Invitational from the Spectrum Center in Charlotte on Nov. 4.
