Trey Hendrickson, Joe Flacco Day-to-Day After Injuries vs. Jets, Bengals HC Says
The Cincinnati Bengals got some good news regarding their star defensive end and quarterback after they suffered injuries against the New York Jets on Sunday.
Both Trey Hendrickson (hip) and Joe Flacco (shoulder) will be day-to-day as the team prepares to face the Chicago Bears on Sunday, head coach Zac Taylor said on Monday.
NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported on Sunday that Hendrickson re-aggravated his hip injury, but the team does not believe he has suffered a significant injury.

Schultz noted that some within the Bengals believe the hit that Hendrickson re-aggravated the injury was a "cheap shot." Jets lineman John Simpson was not flagged on the play for his hit to Hendrickson's back. Hendrickson exited the game after the play and did not return.
Hendrickson missed last week's contest against the Pittsburgh Steelers because of a hip injury, and he exited the first half of a game against the Green Bay Packers due to an injury on Oct. 12. After being listed as questionable on the Bengals' injury report throughout the week, Hendrickson's hip ailment once again was a factor against the Jets on Sunday.
Flacco, meanwhile, was seen heading into the tunnel late in the fourth quarter. He did, however, return in time to take the field on his team's final drive of the game.
Flacco went 21-of-34 for 223 yards and two touchdowns against the Jets, adding 14 yards and a score on two carries.
Cincinnati lost the game 39-38, handing New York its first win of the year after starting the season 0-7.
Hendrickson had one tackle before exiting Sunday's contest. The 2024 NFL sacks leader has recorded 16 tackles, four sacks and three tackles for loss this season.
Hendrickson, who got a $14 million pay raise this offseason after a lengthy holdout, has had his name swirling in trade rumors ahead of next week's deadline. With the Bengals sitting at 3-5 on the season with star quarterback Joe Burrow sidelined for the foreseeable future, it wouldn't be surprising to see Cincinnati attempt to sell at the deadline.
Whether Hendrickson will be on the trade block is to be determined, but the Bengals reportedly already turned down an offer from the Dallas Cowboys. A healthy Hendrickson would certainly get Cincinnati a bigger return if it chooses to move on from him.
If the Bengals are going to bounce back from a stunning defeat, having Flacco and Hendrickson on the field would go a long way in helping the cause.
