Cowboys Reportedly Have Called 'Most' of NFL About Trade for DE, LB at 2025 Deadline
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is scouring the rest of the NFL to find help for a defense that has ruined an incredible start to the season by Dak Prescott and the offense.
Per ESPN's Jeremy Fowler (starts at :50 mark), the Cowboys have called around to "most" of the league trying to find an "impact" player along the defensive line or linebacker.

In the aftermath of the Micah Parsons trade, Jones wasn't shy about saying publicly that he would be open to using the extra draft capital the Cowboys received from the Green Bay Packers in a trade to help the team.
"If I had the opportunity to really do some good with those picks, I would do it. We've got them and that's one of the advantages to making the trade," Jones told reporters after a Week 3 loss to the Chicago Bears. "You've got to have something that comes your way that's really special, and if you've got the currency to do it, which in this case would be draft picks, we'll do it."
The Cowboys have four first-round draft picks over the next two years that could be used to build a potential blockbuster deal. Of course, there has to be a player worth giving up that kind of capital available to do it.
There doesn't appear to be a major difference-maker who is going to be on the market during the season. Trey Hendrickson and Maxx Crosby are the two biggest names that have been floating around, though The Athletic's Dianna Russini has reported neither one will be moved.
If the Cowboys want to add linebacker help, the Cincinnati Bengals could help them out. Logan Wilson reportedly requested a trade this week as his playing time has significantly decreased over the past games.
Other trade candidates who presumably wouldn't cost as much as a Crosby or Hendrickson if they were to be dealt include Jaelan Phillips, Bradley Chubb, Arden Key, Demario Davis and Arnold Ebiketie.
No one from that group is a true difference-making player, but the Cowboys need all the help and depth they can get right now. Their offense is playing at such a high level that even something resembling an average defense could vault them to a top-tier Super Bowl contender in the NFC.
The Cowboys are off to a 3-3-1 start with the offense ranking second in points per game. Prescott leads all quarterbacks with an 81.2 QBR, ranks second in passing yards (1,881) and tied for second in passing touchdowns (16).
On the other side of the ball, the Cowboys are allowing the third-most points per game (29.4) and most yards per game (401.6). They have allowed at least 22 points in each of their seven games played this season.
Jones has just over one week to find any deals that interest in him. The NFL trade deadline is Nov. 4 at 4 p.m. ET.
