Jalen Brunson, Knicks Excite NBA Fans with Win vs. Brown, Celtics to Start Season 2-0
Jalen Brunson and the New York Knicks defeated the Boston Celtics 105–95 at home on Friday to get out to a perfect 2-0 start to their season.
Brunson led the way with 31 points, three rebounds and five assists, shooting an efficient 50 percent from the field.

Karl-Anthony Towns added a double-double with 26 points and 13 rebounds and Mikal Bridges chipped in 12 points and six rebounds to keep the offense rolling.
Fans were fired up after Brunson and the Knicks jumped out to a 2–0 start to the season, securing back-to-back wins to open their campaign.
Meanwhile, Boston continued to navigate the 2025–26 season without Jayson Tatum, who remains sidelined with an Achilles injury he sustained during the playoffs last season.
Jaylen Brown led the Celtics with 23 points, three assists and four rebounds, but his effort wasn't enough as Boston fell to 0–2 without its star.
The Knicks jumped out to an eight-point lead after the first quarter, fueled by nine early points from Towns on 3-of-4 shooting from deep.
They kept the momentum rolling in the second, stretching their advantage to 20 by halftime. Towns led all scorers with 16 at the break, while Brunson added 11 and OG Anunoby chipped in seven.
New York maintained control through the third quarter, but Boston mounted a late push in the fourth, cutting the deficit to as little as nine. Despite the surge, a clutch three-pointer from Brunson sealed it, as the Celtics' comeback fell short and the Knicks held on to secure the win.
New York will look to carry its momentum into Sunday's road matchup against the Miami Heat, while Boston aims for its first win of the season when it visits the Detroit Pistons.
