NFL Fans Troll Lawrence, Jags as Stafford, Rams Super Bowl Odds Hyped amid Puka Injury
No Puka Nacua, no problem.
Even with their star wide receiver sidelined by an ankle injury, the Los Angeles Rams cruised to a 35-7 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday at Wembley Stadium in London. Los Angeles is now 5-2 following its second straight win and tied with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the most victories in the NFC.
Jacksonville has now dropped two in a row following its promising start and fell to 4-3 on the campaign.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Matthew Stafford went 21-of-33 for 182 yards, five touchdowns and zero interceptions with three of the scores going to Davante Adams. Counterpart Trevor Lawrence finished 23-of-48 for 296 yards, one touchdown and zero interceptions in a game that was defined by missed opportunities for the Jaguars even though Travis Hunter scored his first career touchdown.
Social media was quick to criticize Jacksonville while also hyping up the Rams' Super Bowl outlook:
It didn't take long for Stafford to quiet any concerns about what the passing game would look like without Nacua. He threw touchdown passes to Konata Mumpfield and Adams on the Rams' first two drives all while the Jaguars failed to pick up a single first down on their opening two possessions.
That was just the start of the problems for the AFC South team.
Cam Little missed a 50-yard field goal when head coach Liam Coen decided to trot him out instead of going for 4th-and-3. So he went for the next three fourth-down opportunities with chances to score just for Lawrence to fall short on a 4th-and-7 scramble inside the red zone on the first one and then throw a 4th-and-2 incompletion inside Rams' territory on the second one.
The third one was another incompletion deep inside Los Angeles territory.
It seemed like every choice was the wrong one for the Jaguars, as they missed a number of golden opportunities to cut into the 21-0 halftime lead Stafford built with another touchdown pass to Adams.
Jacksonville's defense played better after intermission, and it also appeared as if the special teams got on the board before Parker Washington's punt-return touchdown was called back for a penalty.
But the offense continued to get in its own way with dropped passes, poor blocking and ill-timed penalties. Lawrence did not play well, but it was hard to blame all of the struggles on the quarterback with no meaningful running game and multiple drops from his receivers.
It was just a matter of time before Stafford broke through again, and he put the game away with late touchdown passes to Terrance Ferguson and Adams that provided plenty of cushion to survive Hunter's touchdown.
As a result, Los Angeles has no shortage of momentum heading into its bye week, while the Jaguars will also have a week off to figure out what went wrong.
