Cam Skattebo's Mom Becky Once Said Son 'Would Run Into Telephone Poles' to Train
Stories about Cam Skattebo's unorthodox training techniques are going viral now that the rookie running back has played his way into a starting position with the New York Giants.
Skattebo's mother, Becky Skattebo, told ESPN in January that her six-year-old son used to train by putting on his brother's shoulder pads and running into telephone poles.
"Once he got onto the field, it was no surprise the punishment he inflicted on his own body and everybody else," Becky Skattebo said during her son's senior season with Arizona State.

Becky Skattebo had previously described her son's work with telephone poles with a social media post shared earlier in Skattebo's final college season.
That physicality ultimately earned Skattebo a place on the Giants' draft board as the 105th selection in the 2025 draft.
Skattebo has seen his workload quickly climb in his first NFL season as both he and fellow rookie Jaxson Dart earned starting roles ahead of Week 4.
The running back has since recorded 59 carries over the Giants' last three games, racking up 236 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns over the span.
He most recently recorded 19 carries for a career-high 98 yards with three rushing touchdowns in last Thursday's Week 6 win over the visiting Philadelphia Eagles
Dart and Skattebo will now take on one of their toughest opponents yet in Week 7, when the duo comes up against a Broncos run defense that has held opponents to just 89 rushing yards per game so far this season.
Skattebo will see if his experience with immovable objects pays off when the Giants kick off Week 7 on Sunday at 4:05 p.m. ET at Mile High Stadium in Denver.
