LeBron James Says 'Everything Is So Fake,' Lament Lack of Integrity in Modern Culture
Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James waxed philosophical while appearing on his wife's podcast.
On the newest episode of Everybody's Crazy, which is co-hosted by Savannah James and April McDaniel, James lamented how "everything is so fake now" and people try to interpret what he says on levels that don't exist:
Fans who have followed James for years might find his comments a bit rich when the 21-time All-Star has built a reputation for being passive aggressive and purposefully vague.
Perhaps the most famous example came in February 2015, when James posted on social media, "Stop trying to find a way to FIT-OUT and just FIT-IN."
Many assumed that was a reference to Cleveland Cavaliers teammate Kevin Love, who was adjusting to a lesser role than he had had with the Minnesota Timberwolves. LeBron at first denied that was a subtle comment toward Love before admitting it was all along.
There have been other instances since then when James, or one of his representatives, offered a cryptic comment to reporters or social media.
Earlier this summer, his agent, Rich Paul, told ESPN's Shams Charania the four-time MVP "wants to compete for a championship next season and potentially beyond and will be closely monitoring the Lakers' moves and whether the team is positioning itself this offseason to field a title-contending roster."
If not an outright trade request, that sounded a lot like James could press the issue if the Lakers didn't improve their team to a sufficient level. Some around the NBA reportedly read it that way.
