NFL Sends Teams Concussion Protocol Memo amid Review of Jaxson Dart, Giants
The NFL sent a concussion protocol memo to all 32 teams on Saturday after New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart's evaluation on Thursday night, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.
"The Concussion Protocol explicitly requires that 'only medical personnel deemed essential to the care of the athlete may be present for the tent and/or locker room evaluation. This includes the team physician best qualified to evaluate concussion, the Club AT, and the sideline UNC,'" the memo read, via Florio. "No other individuals are permitted in the tent or locker room during an evaluation. This includes coaches, front office personnel and/or other players. Clubs are responsible for ensuring compliance with this requirement."

After Dart was taken into the medical tent on the Giants' sideline during their 34-17 win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday, head coach Brian Daboll approached the tent and looked inside.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Friday that the NFL and NFL Players Association would review the application of the league's concussion protocol as it relates to Dart.
Giants running back Cam Skattebo briefly entered the medical tent while New York's signal-caller was being evaluated as well.
Daboll, who was also spotted yelling at the team's physician after checking on Dart, apologized after the game.
"Look, if you've ever been on an NFL sideline, there's a lot of emotions," Daboll explained, via Jayna Bardahl of The Athletic. "And I certainly am an emotional guy. I apologized directly to our team physician. I just wanted (Dart's) ass out there — if he was OK — but I wanted the process … like, we were getting ready to go for it on a potential fourth down. I would've burned a timeout if he could've came out there, so I was asking, 'How long is it going to take?'"
"So, I love our doctors," he added. "… I apologized. I was in the wrong."
The next day, Giants president and CEO John Mara addressed the incident in a statement and confirmed the team would "cooperate fully" in the NFL's review.
Dart was replaced by Russell Wilson for two plays before New York punted, but was back on the field for the team's next drive.
The rookie signal-caller finished 17-of-25 for 195 yards and one touchdown without turning the ball over. He also rushed for 58 yards and a score on 13 attempts.
The Giants opened the 2025 season with a record of 0-3, but have won two of their past three games since Dart replaced Wilson in the first-team offense.
