Christen Miller NFL Draft 2026 Scouting Report for New Orleans Saints DT
The New Orleans Saints selected Georgia DT Christen Miller with the No. 42 overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft.
Christen Miller answered a lot of concerns about him as an NFL draft prospect during the 2025 season to be in the first-round discussion.
The Georgia defensive tackle is one of those rare players who combines size, strength and movement skills to have the potential to make an impact on every down at the next level.
Miller is listed at 6'4", 320 pounds and entered the Bulldogs' program as a 4-star recruit in the 2022 class. He redshirted as a true freshman, playing behind first-round picks Jordan Davis, Devonte Wyatt and Jalen Carter.
The following year, Miller was a rotational player and racked up 14 tackles, four tackles for loss and a sack. He became a starter as a redshirt sophomore and accumulated 27 tackles, 3.5 TFLs and 1.5 sacks. He did not receive any postseason recognition during his first three years in Athens.
However, the former Bulldog was a first-team All-SEC selection in 2025, collecting 23 tackles, four TFLs and 1.5 sacks.

Where He Wins
2 of 5
- Miller has good size and carries his weight well. Also shows impressive quickness and movement skills.
- Quick to get his hands up against the run and has very good upper body strength to gain control of and shed blocks.
- Takes on blocks from interior offensive linemen with good pad level and a wide base to stay in his gap when left one-on-one. Is also quick to recognize down blocks to avoid getting washed inside.
- Has the agility and quickness to fill his gap and cross the offensive lineman's face to make tackles in the adjacent gap. Agility also helps him avoid getting reached and be an effective looper as a pass-rusher.
- Potential to develop as a pass rusher, he has shown flashes of winning with a bull rush and a decent swim move.
- Experience playing several alignments on the defensive line from a 0-technique nose tackle to a 4i-technique defensive end. He has some position versatility in the pros.
Areas of Improvement
3 of 5
- Often late to react to the snap, hurting Miller's get-off and effectiveness/consistency when bull rushing.
- Doesn't anticipate double teams and combo blocks well, resulting in him getting pushed out of his gap against better competition.
- Isn't gap disciplined against the run, he'll often get set up by running backs and leave his assignment early to try and make a play.
- Hands are often late as a pass-rusher, allowing offensive linemen to get into his chest. He doesn't have a go-to pass-rush move that he can win with yet.
- Minimal production, he's never had 30 or more tackles or two full sacks in a single season.
