Cam Ward Says Titans Teammates Respected QB's 'We Ass' Comment, 'We Needed That'
Tennessee Titans quarterback Cam Ward revealed that his teammates were appreciative of his blunt assessment of the Titans' 0-4 start to the 2025 season.
"I just think we needed that, we needed it to be known that we weren't complementing each other on both sides of the ball," Ward said, according to Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer. "The biggest thing is that the guys in the locker room, they respected it. They know how I feel when we're not on our P's & Q's on offense. We've got a group of individuals who take it to heart, but the good way, in holding each other accountable, being resilient."

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
After the Titans suffered a lopsided 26-0 defeat at the hands of the Houston Texans in Week 4, Ward told reporters "if we keep it a buck right now, we ass."
Tennessee followed up the disheartening loss against Houston with a 22-21 win over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, erasing a 15-point fourth quarter deficit to emerge victorious.
Ward finished 21-of-39 for 265 yards while tossing an interception, although he connected with Calvin Ridley on a 38-yard pass to help set up the Titans for a game-winning field goal.
While the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft has dealt with some inconsistency to open his career, he's also shown several encouraging signs.
Through five games, Ward has completed 51.8 percent of his throws for 879 yards and two touchdowns while getting picked off three times.
The 23-year-old has already earned the respect of Tennessee's locker room, as he was named a team captain prior to the start of the regular season.
Ward will now look to help the Titans win back-to-back games for the first time since Nov. 2022.
