Cam Ward Says Titans Are 'Ass' After Team Drops to 0-4 With Shutout Loss to Texans

Adam WellsSep 28, 2025

Frustration is mounting for the Tennessee Titans after Sunday's shutout loss to the Houston Texans dropped their record to 0-4 to start the season.

Speaking to reporters after the 26-0 defeat, Titans quarterback Cam Ward could only say that they are playing like "ass" right now.

Going against the Texans defense is a brutal matchup for a lot of teams, so the Titans failing to score is no great shame.

It did, however, continue a trend of the Titans not being able to sustain anything on offense so far. They gained a total of 175 yards on 46 plays, an average of 3.8 yards per play.

Adding insult to injury, Joey Slye missed two field goals in the first half when the Titans were still in the game.

Tennessee hasn't had a game with more than 282 yards in a game this season. This is also making things incredibly difficult for Ward, who had his worst game against the Texans.

Ward finished 10-of-26 for 108 yards with one interception. It was his third game with fewer than 200 passing yards.

Even though the final score looks lopsided, the Titans defense actually did a good job of keeping things close to give the offense a chance. It was only 6-0 entering the fourth quarter before the bottom dropped out.

Titans head coach Brian Callahan has already taken one drastic measure with the hope of turning things around. He announced on Tuesday that he is giving play-calling duties to quarterbacks coach Bo Hardegree.

Considering there were reports that Callahan was nearly fired at the end of last season, the ugly start for the Titans in 2025 is only going to add more heat to his seat.

Expectations were modest, at best, for the Titans entering this season because it was a rebuilding roster with a rookie quarterback, but the results so far look borderline incompetent.

Unless things get better soon, the Titans are staring down the possibility of another brutal season after a 3-14 record in 2024.
