Saquon Barkley Reportedly Expected to Play for Eagles vs. Giants Amid Knee Injury
The Philadelphia Eagles held star running back Saquon Barkley out of practice on Monday due to a knee injury, but he's reportedly expected to be fine.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that Barkley is experiencing some "general soreness" following Sunday's loss to the Denver Broncos, but he "fully expects" to play against the New York Giants on Thursday Night Football.
Barkley was held under 50 rushing yards for the third straight game in Philadelphia's 21-17 loss to Denver, finishing with 30 yards on six carries. However, he made his presence felt in the passing attack, recording three catches for 58 yards and a touchdown.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Barkley has yet to achieve a 100-yard rushing performance this season, which is a stark contrast to his record-breaking 2024 campaign in which he surpassed the 100-yard mark twice in his first three games on his way to becoming just the ninth running back to achieve a 2,000-yard season.
The Eagles managed to succeed despite Barkley's lack of production this year, winning their first four games before losing to the Broncos on Sunday. Star quarterback Jalen Hurts leads the team with four rushing touchdowns and has added 182 yards on the ground while throwing for 889 yards, seven touchdowns and no interceptions.
Philadelphia will be facing a 1-4 New York team on Thursday, so Barkley and company will have a strong chance to return to their usual form. The Giants rank 26th in the NFL with 140.0 rushing yards allowed per game, so the Eagles will be ready to feed Barkley a high volume of touches in Week 6.
