Bucs' Bucky Irving Reportedly Out At Least 2 Weeks with Shoulder, Foot Injuries

Adam WellsOct 5, 2025

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Bucky Irving is unlikely to play in each of the next two games due to shoulder and foot injuries.

Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, Irving is expected to be out for at least two weeks primarily due to a shoulder subluxation that he didn't report to the team until Tuesday.

Irving is also dealing with a sprained foot suffered in the Bucs' Week 4 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. He was already ruled out for Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks, but is also likely to sit out next week's matchup with the San Francisco 49ers.

The foot injury was believed to be the primary injury for Irving coming out of the loss to Philadelphia. He only played 61.1 percent of the offensive snaps in that game after being over 70 percent in the first three weeks.

Head coach Todd Bowles told reporters during his postgame press conference last Sunday that there was concern about Irving's foot.

Per Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, Irving was wearing a walking boot and using crutches on Thursday during Bucs' practice.

A shoulder subluxation is described as a partial dislocation of the joint. Even though in certain instances it can require surgery, there's no indication that is a consideration for Irving at this point.

Stroud noted there are currently no plans for the Bucs to place Irving on injured reserve and he can return within two to three weeks. An IR stint would keep him out for at least four games.

Irving has been a huge factor in the passing game for the Bucs. The second-year running back leads the team in receptions (19), ranks second in receiving yards (193) and receiving touchdowns (two).

Rachaad White will likely take over as the starting running back for the time being. Sean Tucker could also get more action after receiving one carry through four games.

The Bucs will take on the Seahawks at Lumen Field on Sunday looking to right the ship after suffering their first loss of the season last week.
