Deion Sanders Says Shedeur 'Not Sitting Down Having a Pity Party' About Browns Role
Rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders is still taking his position on the Cleveland Browns' depth chart in stride, according to his father.
During his weekly coaches show, Colorado's Deion Sanders was asked about his son and his belief that Shedeur will start at some point during the 2025 NFL season.
"I'm not just being optimistic," Coach Prime said, beginning at the 16:55 mark. "I know what he brings to the table. Right now, you know how he's excited about the scout team. He's taken the scout team and said, 'This is game day for me. So we get three days a week to perform.' And they are going at the darn starters on defense. I love that he's taken it upon himself to say, "I'm not gonna sit here and have a pity party.'"

Coach Questions Beck's Personality 🤔
Earlier this week, Sanders confirmed on the New Heights podcast that Shedeur balked at interest from the Baltimore Ravens because Lamar Jackson is firmly entrenched there.
Coach Prime also said he has a "feeling" for when Shedeur will take over as Cleveland's starter but didn't elaborate beyond that.
At the very least, Joe Flacco may not have the starting job for much longer. Through three weeks, he has thrown for 631 yards, two touchdowns and four interceptions. His five yards per attempt are the lowest in the NFL right now.
A demotion for Flacco seems inevitable and the only question might be whether head coach Kevin Stefanski is willing to put Gabriel on the field for a difficult Week 5 matchup with the Minnesota Vikings. Waiting for the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 6 or Miami Dolphins in Week 7 would be a better setting for a first-year QB.
Once the change is made, Sanders may find himself only one spot away from the first string.
