Derrick Henry Jokes He Hopes Ravens' Opponents Keep Calling DeAndre Hopkins 'Washed'
Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry is hoping opponents continue underestimating DeAndre Hopkins during the wide receiver's age-33 season.
"I think he's done this his whole career," Henry told reporters Friday (h/t ESPN's Jamison Hensley). "Everybody knows that stigma. You go up in age, and all of a sudden, something's changed.
"Hopefully they keep calling him washed, 'cause that s--t's been working."

Hopkins, who previously played alongside Henry with the Tennessee Titans, signed a one-year deal with the Ravens in March.
The veteran wideout was coming off a 2024 campaign split between the Titans and Kansas City Chiefs, during which he had been held to a career-low 10.7 yards per catch.
That number has ballooned during the first two games of the 2025 season, during which Hopkins has recorded two touchdown receptions of over 20 yards.
That included a highlight-reel one-handed catch in the third quarter of the Ravens' season-opening loss to the Buffalo Bills.
Hopkins also snagged a 23-yard touchdown catch for a touchdown last Sunday during the Ravens' Week 2 win over the Cleveland Browns.
"I just thought that young corner was covering DeAndre as well as he could. You couldn't cover him any better," head coach John Harbaugh said after Sunday's win. "And yet, Lamar puts the ball in a great spot, and DeAndre makes a great catch."
Harbaugh was then asked if the Ravens plan on giving Hopkins more playing time heading in to Week 3.
The veteran wideout has played in 26 percent of the Ravens' offensive snaps so far this season, per Pro Football Reference. Henry, in contrast, is being used on 59 percent of Baltimore's offensive plays.
"I think we'll see as we go... the more DeAndre's on the field, I'm happy about that," Harbaugh said Monday. "But if we don't have to have him out there too much, doing things that aren't difference-making things, that makes sense as well."
Harbaugh and Henry will both hope to see more clutch plays from Hopkins when the Ravens come up against a top-10 passing defense in a Week 3 matchup against the Detroit Lions. Kickoff is set for 8:15 p.m. ET on Monday night in Baltimore.
