Jalen Hurts Takes 'Accountability' for Eagles' Passing Struggles to Start NFL Season
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts addressed the team's inconsistent passing attack to begin the 2025 season.
"I take accountability for a lot of it," Hurts told reporters Wednesday. "Just how we go out there because it's my job to go out there and be the general, orchestrate everything and ultimately make plays. Given the opportunities we've had, I'm very critical of myself of trying to make the most of what's given to us. There's definitely some evolution that we can do."

Philadelphia's overall Super Bowl defense has started off strong, currently sitting at 2-0 with wins over the Dallas Cowboys and Kansas City Chiefs.
Hurts hasn't been as productive through the air compared to past seasons, though.
He's thrown for a mere 253 yards through two games without recording a touchdown or an interception.
While Hurts is completing 75.6 percent of his passes, most have come on short throws. He's averaging only 5.6 yards per attempt, which would be a career-low mark over the course of a full season.
The Eagles have only recorded three pass plays of at least 10 yards in 2025 (h/t Reuben Frank of NBC Sports Philadelphia).
Star wide receiver A.J. Brown, who racked up 4,031 receiving yards across his first three years in Philadelphia, has only caught six passes for 35 yards this season.
While it's an encouraging sign that Hurts knows the Eagles' passing offense needs to improve and the team remains undefeated, it'll be difficult for them to go on another deep playoff run if the signal-caller can't turn things around.
He'll look to improve in a tough Week 3 matchup with the Los Angeles Rams, as the Rams own the NFL's No. 4 pass defense through two weeks.
