Shedeur Sanders Reportedly Not Running Browns' Scout Team at Practice amid Rumors
The Cleveland Browns' ongoing development of quarterback Shedeur Sanders apparently doesn't include him running the scout team for right now.
ESPN Cleveland's Tony Rizzo reported Thursday that Cleveland has Bailey Zappe, not Sanders, as the scout team QB:

Sanders is unofficially third in the depth chart behind Joe Flacco and Dillon Gabriel. Cleveland listed him as its emergency QB for a Week 1 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.
As the third-stringer, the fifth-round pick has limited time on the practice field, so working with the scout team would make up for that a little bit.
Granted, the purpose of a scout team is right there in the name. It's both a tool for player development and helping to prepare for upcoming opponents.
One can understand why Zappe, who has made 15 career appearances, is a little better suited to be the facsimile for whatever quarterback Cleveland is facing.
More than anything, this underlines why some general managers may have been wary of taking Sanders in the draft, knowing the attention that would follow.
How many scout team quarterbacks can fans name off the top of their heads?
For the most part, the concept is only referenced to signify how far a player has fallen down the ladder.
Now, Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski or offensive coordinator Tommy Rees may have to answer questions about how they're running the scout team and what it means about the organizational commitment toward Sanders.
