Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
The two-time American League MVP now has 359 lifetime home runs, and he needs just three more to surpass another Hall of Famer and legend, Joe DiMaggio, for fourth on the Yankees' career homer list.
Babe Ruth hit 659 of his 714 career homers with the Yankees to top the list, and he is followed by Mickey Mantle (536) and Lou Gehrig (493) to round out the top three.
Judge has been phenomenal since his 2017 rookie season, making seven All-Star Games and winning four Silver Slugger awards. He's led the major leagues in home runs twice, including an American League-record 62 homers during the 2022 campaign.
Entering Tuesday, Judge has hit 200 home runs and knocked in 447 RBI since 2022. He's also hit .308 (1.105 OPS) during that span while scoring 448 runs.
Needless to say, he's already a Yankee legend and on track for the Hall of Fame. Judge has also been so good that he cracked the top five of a list that has remained unchanged for many decades. For reference, the last player on that list to retire was Mantle, and he did so after the 1968 season.
Chances are he'll be fourth on the list by the end of this year. For now, though, he's trying to guide the Yankees to their first World Series title since 2009.
New York is in good shape to at least make the wild card round at 80-64 right now, although Tuesday's game ended in a 12-2 loss for the Yanks after Detroit scored nine seventh-inning runs. New York will get two more shots at Detroit on Wednesday and Thursday at home.
