Commanders, Packers Have Oldest, Youngest NFL Rosters Before 2025 Season, Report Says

Doric SamAug 27, 2025

Despite having reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year Jayden Daniels leading the way, the Washington Commanders earned a surprising distinction ahead of the 2025 season.

According to Jimmy Kempski of PhillyVoice, the Commanders have the oldest roster in the NFL entering this year. On the other end of the spectrum, the Green Bay Packers have the youngest roster.

The Commanders reportedly have an average age of 28.09 with 25 players at 29 years old or above. No other team in the league has 20 players at 29 years of age or older, with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Houston Texans tying for the second-most at 17.

Daniels is one of the fastest-rising stars in the NFL after leading Washington to a 12-5 record and a trip to the NFC Championship Game in his first year. Still, he will be turning 25 in December, an age atypical of a second-year player.

The Packers will have the youngest roster in the league for the third consecutive year, with an average age of 25.23. Only four players on the team are 29 or older. Star quarterback Jordan Love is entering his sixth year in the NFL and will turn 27 in November.

It will be fun to see whether youth or experience is the key to success as teams embark on the 2025 campaign.
