Tyler Huntley Reportedly Cut By Browns, Kenny Pickett Expected to Be Available Week 1
The Cleveland Browns' quarterback room has created plenty of headlines this offseason, but it reportedly will no longer include Tyler Huntley.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Sunday that Cleveland is releasing Huntley amid its plan to keep Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders on the 53-man roster.
Pickett has been sidelined with a hamstring injury, but head coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters the team plans on him being available for the Week 1 game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The battle at this point is to be Flacco's backup, as the Browns already named him as the starter. Pickett brings the most experience after starting 25 games during the last three seasons for the Pittsburgh Steelers, so it wouldn't be surprising if he is eventually No. 2 on the depth chart.
Cleveland also likely doesn't want to give up on Gabriel and Sanders at this point after using a third- and fifth-round pick, respectively, on the two rookies.
That left Huntley as the odd-man out, although such a development was largely expected seeing how he was brought in at a time when Pickett, Gabriel and Sanders were all dealing with various injuries.
The Browns needed healthy options at the position to get through training camp and early preseason games, and Huntley provided just that even though it was always a long shot he would make the team.
He did lead the Browns down the field for their game-winning drive during Saturday's preseason victory over the Los Angeles Rams, although the storyline there was that he entered the game after Sanders struggled.
Huntley has plenty of experience and will likely get another chance for a different team that needs a quarterback. He started five games for the Miami Dolphins and has 25 appearances and 14 starts throughout a career that started with the Baltimore Ravens.
He even made the Pro Bowl during the 2022 season, although that was largely because so many other players dropped out before the event.
Now Huntley is looking for his next team as the Browns prepare for their Sept. 7 opener against the Cincinnati Bengals.
