Giancarlo Stanton Calls It 'Unacceptable' for Yankees to Be 1-8 vs. Red Sox in 2025
The New York Yankees have now lost eight of nine games to the Boston Red Sox this season after falling 12-1 at home to their arch-rivals on Saturday.
After the game, Yankees slugger Giancarlo Stanton, who was responsible for his team's only run via a solo homer, called New York's performance against Boston this year "unacceptable."

The Yankees rolled into their four-game series against the Red Sox on the high of a five-game win streak, but that positive momentum has been thoroughly derailed after Boston beat New York three straight times from Thursday through Saturday.
New York's offense has gone quiet, scoring just four runs during that stretch. The Yankees' defense has also been quite sloppy.
The Yankees were once 42-25 with a 4.5-game lead in the AL East after a three-game sweep over the Kansas City Royals. However, New York has been 27-35 ever since, and now the Yanks are sitting third in the AL East, 6.5 games back of the Toronto Blue Jays.
New York is still in playoff position, holding down the third and final AL Wild Card spot right now. However, the defending AL pennant winners certainly didn't foresee themselves fighting just to make the postseason coming into this year, or even a few months ago when the Yanks were looking like strong league contenders.
A 1-8 record against Boston, which has jumped New York in the standings, is certainly demoralizing. Ultimately, that performance showcases that the Yankees don't remotely resemble a World Series contender right now.
New York certainly added enough bats and relief pitchers prior to the trade deadline in an effort to go for it, but the Yankees ultimately can't get out of their own way right now.
The Bronx Bombers still have four games left against Boston this season, with one more home matchup in this series on Sunday before a three-game road trip to Fenway Park in September.
