What to Know About Kinley Rasmus' Family Tree Amid LLWS Star's Historic Performance

Kinley Rasmus has been a key contributor for Alabama's Phenix City Youth Baseball to start the 2026 Little League World Series.

Rasmus' family has plenty of MLB experience, while her cousin is also her teammate.

Her father, Cory, helped lead Phenix City to the Little League World Series championship game in 1999 before pitching for the Atlanta Braves and Los Angeles Angels from 2013-16.

Kinley's uncle, Colby, appeared in 1,092 MLB games throughout his career from 2009-18.

Meanwhile, her grandfather coached the 1999 Phenix City team and was a former draft pick of the Angels. Her mother also played softball at Southern Mississippi.

Kinley has amassed 14 strikeouts in this year's tournament, tying Mo'ne Davis' Little League World Series record for strikeouts by a girl.

She revealed that she's looking to follow in her father's footsteps and help Phenix City contend for a Little League World Series title.

"I just always hear my dad talking about [Williamsport] and how much fun he had, and I just want to do the same thing," Kinley said, per ESPN's J.J. Post.

Through Alabama's first three Little League World Series contests in Williamsport, she went 3-for-7 at the plate. On the mound, she allowed just three hits without giving up an earned run in 10.2 innings pitched.

Alabama is in the midst of an impressive tournament run, coming back from a five-run deficit to secure a 6-5 victory over Pennsylvania on Monday.

Rasmus' squad ultimately advanced to face Washington in an elimination game on Tuesday.
