Rea is a native of Cascade, and The Corner Taproom celebrates the right-hander by giving out a free drink for each of his strikeouts. That special eventually found its way to Sciambi and Deshaies, who mentioned it during Rea's start against the Philadelphia Phillies on June 10.
It appears the broadcasters were true to their word. The restaurant shared a photo that showed four platters of "Cheese Stix" from Happy Joe's, the neighboring pizzeria.
Rea wound up throwing 5.2 innings on Wednesday, allowing two earned runs on three hits and striking out three. Cubs closer Daniel Palencia gave up one run in the ninth but earned the save after Contreras lined out with the bases loaded.
