Action Recap

The semifinals opened with the tournament's first match tiebreak

Top seeds Jessica Pegula and Jack Draper looked unstoppable after cruising through Day 1 and claiming the first set of their semifinal, 5-3. But, No. 3 seeds Iga Swiatek and Casper Ruud had other plans.

The duo roared back in the second set, also winning 5-3, forcing the first third-set decider of the tournament. In a tense final frame, Swiatek and Ruud rallied from 4 points down and leveled the score at 8-8, before reeling off two straight points to stun the No. 1 seeds with a dramatic 10-8 win—and punch their ticket to the final.

Last-minute additions Danielle Collins and Christian Harrison fall in the semis

Danielle Collins and Christian Harrison made a strong impression as last-minute replacements for Jannik Sinner—who withdrew due to illness—and his partner Katerina Siniakova.

The American duo's Cinderella run ended in the semifinals, falling 4-2, 4-2 to defending champions Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori in a spirited match that was tied 2-2 in the second set before slipping away.

Before their exit, Collins and Harrison powered past Belinda Bencic and Alexander Zverev with a dominant 4-0, 5-3 win in Round 1, then followed it up by defeating fellow Americans Taylor Townsend and Ben Shelton, 4-1, 4-2.

Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori defend their title in style

Swiatek and Ruud fell behind early and couldn't recover, dropping the first set 6-3 to the defending U.S. Open mixed doubles champions Errani and Vavassori.

The second set was far more competitive, with Swiatek and Ruud grabbing a 3-2 lead in their push to stay alive. The defending champs responded swiftly, pulling ahead 5-3 and seeming poised to close it out—until momentum shifted.

In a thrilling turn, Swiatek and Ruud rallied to level the second set at 5-5 before surging ahead to win it 7-5, forcing a decisive match tiebreak.

The defending champions held firm under pressure, closing out the win with a 10-6 victory in the third-set tiebreak.

While not the $1 million grand prize, Swiatek and Ruud still walked away with a solid $400,000 as runners-up.
