Yankees Make MLB History With 2nd 9-HR Game of 2025 Season, Tie Franchise Record
The panic that was coming from the Bronx is starting to quiet down after the New York Yankees made history on Tuesday night in a 13-3 win over the Tampa Bay Rays.
New York slugged nine homers against the Rays, making it the first team in MLB history to have multiple games with at least nine homers in the same season.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
The Yankees previously hit nine homers in a game on March 29 in a 20-9 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers. If you recall, that was the game that launched the discussion about torpedo bats.
Tuesday's barrage saw six different players homer, with Giancarlo Stanton, José Caballero and Cody Bellinger all hitting two dingers. Aaron Judge, Jazz Chisholm and Ben Rice each homered once.
Judge, Bellinger and Stanton went back-to-back-to-back off Rays starter Shane Baz in the first inning.
"It was impressive," Yankees manager Aaron Boone said after the game. "Great swings right out of the gate to give us a lead."
This was the only fourth time in MLB history a team has ever hit nine home runs in a single game. The single-game record for homers belongs to the Toronto Blue Jays, who hit 10 against the Baltimore Orioles on Sept. 14, 1987. The 1999 Cincinnati Reds are the only other team that has hit nine home runs in a game.
More important than Tuesday's power surge was the Yankees securing another victory. They have now won four straight games and six of their last seven after falling to 62-56 with a 7-1 loss to the Houston Astros on Aug. 10.
The Yankees (68-57) are 11 games over .500 for the first time since July 31. They have opened up a two game lead in the loss column over the Seattle Mariners and Boston Red Sox for the No. 1 wild card spot in the AL.
