Heat's Kevin Durant Trade Offer Reportedly Included Andrew Wiggins, Terry Rozier, More
The trade package that the Miami Heat reportedly offered the Phoenix Suns in exchange for Kevin Durant was revealed on Friday.
According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, the Heat offered Andrew Wiggins, Terry Rozier, Haywood Highsmith, Jaime Jaquez Jr. and the No. 20 overall pick in the 2025 NBA draft for Durant and Cody Martin.
ESPN's Shams Charania previously reported that Miami turned down an opportunity to send Jaquez, Highsmith, Nikola Jović, the No. 20 pick and "other draft assets" to Phoenix instead.
Durant was eventually dealt to the Houston Rockets as part of a seven-team swap on July 6.
The Suns came away from the deal with Jalen Green and Dillon Brooks as well as 2025 draft picks that were used to select Khaman Maluach, Rasheer Fleming and Koby Brea. Phoenix also received two future second-round draft choices.
On June 14, Charania listed Miami as one of the teams that Durant would be willing to make a long-term commitment to following a change of scenery.
The 15-time All-Star is set to carry a cap hit of $54.7 million for the 2025-26 season before hitting free agency during the ensuing offseason.
Durant could have served as a veteran leader and top scorer alongside Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo in Miami as the Heat pursue their seventh consecutive playoff appearance.
They couldn't reach an agreement with the Suns, though. Phoenix chose a Houston offer that contained more draft capital and young talent such as Green, while Miami's proposal contained veterans over 30 years old such as Wiggins and Rozier.
Highsmith wasn't moved to the Suns despite his name surfacing in trade negotiations, although Charania reported that the Heat sent him to the Brooklyn Nets on Friday in exchange for a 2026 protected second-round pick.
Now, Miami will look to return to the postseason led by Adebayo and Herro while featuring a young core that includes Jović and center Kel'el Ware.
