Alex Bregman to Use Bat Inspired by Red Sox Mascot Wally for 2025 MLB Players Weekend

Alex Bregman is celebrating 2025 MLB Players Weekend with a bat inspired by Boston Red Sox mascot Wally the Green Monster.

Players are able to show off personalized bats and cleats during the Players Weekend, which was first introduced in 2017. This year's event runs from Friday through Sunday.

This isn't the only time Bregman has celebrated his first year with the Red Sox with some Wally-centered equipment. The infielder also showed off a mascot-themed sliding mitt earlier this season:

Wally has been heavily featured this season in Boston, where the Red Sox have been celebrating home runs by donning the mascot's head after reaching home plate.

Bregman, who signed a three-year deal with the Red Sox ahead of the 2025 season, first put on Wally's head in April.

He most recently used the celebration in back-to-back games against his former teammates on the Houston Astros.

Bregman, who has an opt-out clause in his contract after the 2025 season, recently told the Boston Globe's Tim Healy that he is focused on the postseason and that he will be "open to talking" after the season. The Red Sox could be hoping his tributes to Wally are an indication that he sees a long-term future with the franchise.
