Red Wings Reveal New 'Hockeytown' Center Ice Logo in Photo for Centennial NHL Season
The Detroit Red Wings are celebrating their centennial NHL season by bringing back an iconic center-ice logo.
The Red Wings shared on Friday a video of the new logo, which features the Red Wings' 100th season decal under the word "Hockeytown," being installed at center ice at Little Caesars Arena.

The Red Wings asked fans earlier this offseason to vote on whether or not to include the word "Hockeytown" on the logo at center ice.
Asia Gholston, senior vice president of brand marketing for Red Wings ownership group Ilitch Sports + Entertainment, told DetroitRedWings.com's Jonathan Mills that more than 20,000 votes were cast in the first 72 hours of the poll being open.
The Red Wings originally unveiled the centennial logo, which features the number 100 with the franchise's Winged Wheel symbol in the middle, in June.
The word "Hockeytown" was previously laid over the Winged Wheel logo at center ice starting in 1996.
The Red Wings went on to win four Stanley Cups in an 11-year span with that logo on the ice.
The franchise then replaced the old logo with a simplified Winged Wheel image ahead of the 2018-19 season. Detroit has not been able to snap a nine-year playoff drought since.
The Red Wings will now hope the refreshed look at center ice will coincide with a step forward for the team, which is hoping to qualify for the playoffs in 2026 after coming just short of a postseason berth for two straight seasons.
