Shedeur Sanders Talks Arm Injury, Explains Not Wanting Deion to Visit Browns Camp
After missing Saturday's practice because of arm soreness, Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders gave a positive update on Monday.
He said he was good to go for Monday's practice and explained that the injury was a result of unfamiliar movements for his body.
"It was just adjusting to starting and stopping honestly, that's all it truly is," Sanders said. "Sometimes you'll go in hot, then you'll wait for a second, then you'll get cold, then get back hot, then get cold. My arm and body wasn't used to that. It's just an adjustment within the body."

Sanders also discussed why he didn't want his father and former coach, Deion Sanders, to visit him at training camp.
"I don't want him coming to see me right now because I want to get to where I want to go, then for him to see me," Sanders said. "I don't want him to come and see me get a couple reps and he's cheering like a good dad. Like, nah, you can't be proud of me right now. I've got to get to where I'm going."
Sanders has had a busy few months, from the end of his time at Colorado to sliding to the fifth round of the NFL draft and now competing for the Browns' quarterback job.
Amid everything going on on the field, Sanders has had his father's health in the back of his mind. Deion Sanders revealed last week that he was diagnosed with cancer in April, but is now cancer-free.
Sanders said that his father encouraged him to focus on what he can control rather than worrying about his cancer diagnosis.
"Dad, he's one person where he'll handle his, and we handle what we gotta do," Sanders said. "It was something that, we really ain't even have no formal conversation about because it was like, 'Y'all need to focus on what y'all can focus on. Y'all can't sit here and feel sorry for me.'"
With the season approaching in just over a month, Sanders will spend training camp trying to prove he's capable of starting under center for the Browns. With a crowded quarterback room, he has a tall task ahead of him.
According to The Athletic's Zac Jackson, the current "strong favorite" to win the starting job is veteran Joe Flacco, who helped lead Cleveland to the playoffs two years ago.
It would be somewhat surprising if Sanders, a fifth-round pick, was a starting quarterback in his first season, but the former Colorado standout isn't your typical fifth-round pick.
