MacKenzie Gore Reportedly Eyed By 'Nearly Every Contender' amid Nationals Trade Rumors
The Washington Nationals are prime contenders to be sellers ahead of Thursday's MLB trade deadline, and starting pitcher MacKenzie Gore is garnering plenty of attention.
According to Jon Heyman of the New York Post, "Nearly every contender has checked on Gore. Nats are listening, as promised. But most come away thinking Gore stays in DC."

Gore, 26, is 4-10 this season with a 3.52 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, 3.0 WAR and 144 strikeouts in 117.2 innings.
There's no doubt he misses bats—in 490.1 innings he's accumulated 548 strikeouts. And he's on pace for career bests in ERA and WHIP and WAR, so it's easy to see why plenty of teams would want to add him for a stretch run.
But given his age, quality and the fact that he's under club control through the 2027 season, the Nationals are going to demand a small fortune for his services. And for now, it sounds as though that asking price may not be met.
