Phillies Reportedly Held Exploratory Eugenio Suarez Trade Talks amid MLB Rumors
The Philadelphia Phillies reportedly are looking into one of the best players available ahead of the MLB trade deadline.
According to the Philadelphia Inquirer's Scott Lauber, the Phillies have had "exploratory" conversations with the Arizona Diamondbacks about Eugenio Suárez.
Philadelphia joins a long list of teams hoping to land Suárez before the deadline.

The Chicago Cubs, New York Yankees, New York Mets and Seattle Mariners are among the teams that have been linked to Suárez, though the Yankees have since abandoned their pursuit after landing third baseman Ryan McMahon from the Colorado Rockies.
The interest in Suárez is unsurprising considering the season he's having. The veteran has collected 36 homers, the fourth-most in baseball, and leads the majors with 87 RBI. If he keeps up his current pace, he'll end the season with career numbers in several categories.
The Diamondbacks' hopes of reaching the postseason aren't completely over as their just four games back in the wild card race, but the right offer for Suárez could be enough for Arizona to commit to selling at the trade deadline.
Whether the Phillies will have the right offer will be determined in the coming days.
