Mets Reportedly Linked to Eugenio Suarez Trade Amid Yankees, Cubs Rumors
Eugenio Suárez is arguably the best offensive player who could be available ahead of the July 31 MLB trade deadline, and some of the most prominent teams in baseball are reportedly interested.
ESPN's Jeff Passan reported Wednesday that the New York Mets are one of the "suitors galore" for the third baseman. Passan also listed the New York Yankees, Chicago Cubs and Seattle Mariners as potential landing spots.
Jon Heyman of the New York Post reported Tuesday that Seattle, Chicago and the Yankees reached out to the Arizona Diamondbacks to ask about Suárez.

Another Mets Star Lands on IL
Arizona may end up being the center of the trade deadline universe this season, as pitchers Zac Gallen and Merrill Kelly, as well as veteran Josh Naylor, could be available. They, along with Suárez, are all set for free agency after the ongoing season.
The Diamondbacks could choose to hold onto some or all of them and attempt to make a late charge for the playoffs seeing how they are 5.5 games back of the final National League wild-card spot.
Or they could see such a run as a long shot considering they are 50-52 and have struggled to find a rhythm all season. In that case, they could trade all of those players and completely revamp their farm system with an eye toward the future.
Suárez might land the most high-impact prospects of all of them considering so many teams are interested in what could turn into a bidding war.
The veteran was an All-Star this season and leads the National League in home runs (36) and RBI (86). He is well on his way to reaching triple-digit RBI totals for the fourth time in his career, and he could challenge his high for home runs.
He launched 49 long balls during the 2019 campaign as a member of the Cincinnati Reds.
With the Mets potentially joining the fold of interested suitors that already included the Yankees, Cubs and Mariners, the asking price is likely only going to get higher.
