Yankees' Aaron Boone Defends Team's 'Very Good' Defense After 4 Errors vs. Blue Jays
The New York Yankees had a sloppy game once again in Wednesday's 8-4 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays, but manager Aaron Boone doesn't think it's a true reflection of his team.
While speaking to reporters after the game, Boone declared that the Yankees are "a very good defensive team" despite embarrassingly committing four errors in three innings in Wednesday's loss. He said he feels the team simply had poor showings in its two series in Toronto.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
In 10 games against the Blue Jays this year, the Yankees have committed 12 errors. New York's recent tailspin allowed Toronto to take firm control of the AL East.
After starting the 2025 season hot with a 42-25 record, the Yankees have gone 14-21 and now sit four games behind the Blue Jays (60-42) with a 56-46 record.
Boone has long maintained his incessant defense of his players amid New York's struggles, but his approach is starting to wear on fans. Failing to criticize the team in times where criticism is warranted can disenchant a starving fan base that hasn't experienced a World Series title win since 2009.
The Yankees will have Thursday to regroup before they begin a series against the Philadelphia Phillies (58-44) on Friday.
