Raiders' Geno Smith Says He's Not in Vegas to 'Roll the Dice' But to 'Run the Table'
Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Geno Smith has great expectations in town after being traded from the Seattle Seahawks and signing a two-year, $75 million contract extension with the Silver and Black.
Smith is part of a brand-new chapter in Raider history that also includes a new general manager (John Spytek) and head coach (Pete Carroll).

Re-Drafting Every Team's Worst Draft Pick of the Century 😡
The Raiders have a tough task ahead of them in 2025 to compete in a brutally tough AFC West. The three-time defending AFC champion Kansas City Chiefs have run the division for nearly a decade, but then there's two reigning playoff teams on the rise in the Los Angeles Chargers and Denver Broncos, who won 11 and 10 games last year, respectively.
Las Vegas does have potential to make some noise, though.
The Raiders played quarterback roulette last year but seemed to solve that problem with Smith, who should provide stability at the position after completing 68.5 percent of his passes for 76 touchdowns and 12,226 yards over his three seasons as Seattle's QB1.
A dormant running game also got a massive jolt via rookie running back Ashton Jeanty, the 2024 Heisman Trophy finalist who amassed 2,739 yards and 30 touchdowns for Boise State last year. The No. 6 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft arrives in town with massive expectations, but he could very well meet them after dominating college ball.
Las Vegas also returns a superstar tight end in Brock Bowers, who had 112 catches for 1,194 yards and five touchdowns in year one.
The Raiders also made some key offseason additions, including a pair of ex-Cincinnati Bengals (guard Alex Cappa and linebacker Germaine Pratt) and former Washington Commanders safety Jeremy Chinn.
And then there's the new sideline leader in Carroll, who previously enjoyed a great deal of success over 14 seasons (2010-2023) with the Seattle Seahawks as their head coach, winning two NFC titles and one Super Bowl.
Ultimately, the Raiders still have an uphill battle, especially after finishing just 4-13 last year, but Smith's confidence is sky-high as his team begins training camp.
